To drain the coolant from my Land Rover, I did the following:
1) Remove the fan cowl top
2) Remove the fan/clutch
3) Remove the fan cowl – I don’t know if this is absolutely necessary, but it really helped clear some space to get a the lower hose.
4) Remove the lower host from the left side of the radiator. Make sure you have something to catch the coolant underneath the truck. Nasty stuff, not good to go into the groundwater.
There are drains in the block, but they are a big PITA to get to, and I don’t think it’s really necessary.
